POSITION SUMMARY – This position is based in Batangas City, Philippines
The position requires a strong experience dealing with the regional and local DENR offices, LGUs, and CSOs in the province of Batangas. With direct experience in NbS designing and planning is a plus factor, especially a work that directly deals with the above stakeholders.
Given the broad coverage of the project, focusing on the Calumpang River Watershed and Calumpang River, a staff with a good understanding of resource management and planning is required. The position requires excellence in both oral and written (English) communication skills. These are non-negotiable skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is basically a site coordination/management work that covers a wide range of both technical and administrative responsibilities. Below are the detailed job descriptions.
- Handle the day-to-day on-site activities consistent with the approved project annual plan (and overall plan for the project).
- Assess implementation conditions and apply actions to enhance and improve results.
- Submit recommendations to improve project delivery.
- Prepare quarterly reports following the standard reporting outline and protocol.
- Consistently monitor compliance with project indicators, annual targets, and outcomes.
- Ensure disbursement of funds in accordance with the approved work and financial plan.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor may surface during the course of project implementation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is mostly remote work and may require travel within the project sites and to the CI national office in Metro Manila. May need to work for extended hours as needed.
- This role will be a 1-year fixed-term assignment, anticipated to begin April 2025 to April 2026.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 2-4 years of related work experience, preferably in conservation, NbS designing, and dealing with local institutions (national and local, including LGUs).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Solid attention to detail and strong research and proofreading skills.
- Technical aptitude and ability to understand and interpret detailed information and data.
- Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work team environment.
- Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changing priorities.
- Service focus. Courteous, tactful, and proven ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to work under general supervision and take initiative to solve problems under the supervisor’s direction.
Preferred
- College Graduate; in any field related to natural resources management and agriculture.
- 2-4 years of experience working with an international development agency, and international NGOs (on NbS).
