Offer Description
We are looking for motivated MSc or PhD candidates to join Prof. Noam Weiosbrod’smultidisciplinary research group working on key environmental challenges in arid and semi-arid regions. Students will be fully integrated into experimental and modeling work, with access to field sites, analytical laboratories, and state-of-the-art instrumentation.
Research topics include:
- Subsurface hydrology and unsaturated zone flow
- Contaminant transport in saturated and unsaturated zones
- Greenhouse gas dynamics in water bodies
- Soil-aquifer treatment (SAT) systems for water reuse
Funding includes full tuition and living expenses, supported by competitive research grants.

Skills/Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A background in environmental sciences, hydrology, soil science, environmental engineering, geosciences, or a related field
- Strong motivation to conduct independent research in a multidisciplinary and international environment
- Good analytical, laboratory, or fieldwork skills (depending on project focus)
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Knowledge of data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, R) is an advantage
- For PhD candidates: completed MSc degree with a thesis
