IMDEA Water is a non-profit research Institute, promoted by the Regional Government of Madrid, to carry out research in water technologies. Description
We are looking for a predoctoral modeller with a background in hydrological modelling and mathematical programming (Python, GAMS, similar) to work on the NATURA project (Grant, with reference CNS2022-135132, funded by MICIU/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR). Knowledge on mathematical programming optimization (PMP, PMAUP, LP) and hydrological modelling (SWAT, HEC-HMS) is a plus. The researcher will work on hydroeconomic modelling, in close collaboration with senior researchers; and will also support the project management tasks in the group. Working language will be English.
The purpose of the contract is to carry out a doctoral thesis.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- MSc degree EQF Level 7 (MECES 3)
- Proven quantitative background (economics, engineering, physics, mathematics) and applications to hydroeconomics

Conditions
Employment contract full-time: 37.5 hours/week
Annual gross salary: 21.930€
Approximate incorporation date: June 2025
