 Job Description

About the role

The Solution Design Engineer will support the sales and project delivery teams to ensure fit for purpose Rubicon hardware solutions are delivered.

They will support the bid/project manager by leading the design effort of technical solutions through the project enquiry, acquisition and delivery phases.
Solutions are multidisciplined and include specification of Rubicon and third-party products, specifications of Ricon Software, development of concept site arrangements and specification of the required works to implement the solution (ie civil works, hydraulics, communication networks and IT equipment). Outputs will include reports, concept drawings, material and resource estimates.

They will produce technical content including but not limited to design computations, concept drawings, technical narratives, guidelines, spreadsheet tools, geospatial maps and FAQ’s which will be utilised by the Commercial team in the development of scoping studies, sales proposals and project work.

Note that travel will be a requirement of this role.

 Desired Skills and Experience

Skills & Experience

We want to hear from you if you have the following skills and/or experience:

  • Bachelor degree of Engineering (Major in Civil or Environmental Engineering/ Hydrology)
  • 3+ years’ experience in design, construction or operation of irrigation infrastructure
  • Technical skills in some of the following fields:
  • Hydraulic Design (open channels, pipelines and pumps)
  • Structural Design (concrete, steel and aluminum)
  • Irrigation design
  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
  • ArcGIS
  • Motivated and self-starting individual, with strong communication skills

Notes from hiring manager:

Job is remote but residence in a western US state is required. Salary range tops out at $105k.

Looking for a strong communicator engineer with a passion for saving water on a massive scale. This is the second engineering role in the US and is part of an effort to build out an agile team to help get projects developed and in the ground. Come work with me!

Work Environment

The work environment varies greatly in this position from office and outside field work. This will include exposure to the natural elements (heat, rain, wind, etc).
