Who are we?

WRAP is a global environmental action NGO championing the shift towards a circular economy, fundamentally reshaping how we produce, consume, and manage resources. Our vision is a world transformed, in which Circular Living is commonplace. Where the systems that provide our everyday goods contribute to the world’s prosperity and sustainability instead of reducing it.

WRAP is driving Circular Living through four key areas: accelerating the circular economy, future-proofing food, preventing problem plastics and transforming textiles. We catalyse action from policy makers, businesses, NGOs and citizens to make it happen.

We have offices in the UK, USA and Australia, and live projects in over 30 countries.

Join us at WRAP and you’ll drive important change to make Circular Living the norm.

The role

As our new Senior Water Specialist, you will provide technical expertise and leadership to drive action and impact growth across our Water Roadmap, including collective business behaviour change and policy development. Please note that previous experience in the charity sector is not required.

In this exciting role you will:

  • Lead on WRAP’s Water Roadmap technical strategy to deliver our voluntary agreement targets in the UK and internationally.
  • Identify priorities, evaluate progress towards targets, and ensure that activities and outputs are outcome focused to deliver business behaviour change and high impact.
  • Identify opportunities for funding and contribute to a funding strategy to support the growth of our national and international water footprint.
  • Develop and build strong partnerships with key businesses, government and funders to position WRAP’s work.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government, business, and environmental NGOs, to understand and support further developments of the policy and industry landscape across the UK.
  • Lead and develop a team of five water specialists.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience and understanding of water risk in relation to the food and drink supply chain including a good understanding of supply chain and consumer environment.
  • Ability to tailor environmental solutions to commercial processes and needs of stakeholders to secure funding.
  • Ability to influence, change and impact decisions with both internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to create and present a compelling vision, that motivates others to work towards a common goal.
  • Experience of team management or, as a minimum, coordinating complex activity in line with a common goal, mentoring and supporting others to deliver.
  • An excellent team player with good collaboration and relationship management experience.
