This position is part of a dedicated SEQ project team that is focussed on urgently reviewing water sources and reviewing the framework for supply security for the region. You will be part of a connected and engaged team of professionals who support and value each other to achieve great things.

You will have to analyse and communicate the results and implications of complex urban water security hydrologic modelling assessments, assist in the management of contractors, undertake research and analysis to provide advice on complex planning issues relative to water security. You will have great writing and project management skills and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships across the department and with stakeholders.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to planning for South East Queensland’s future water supply security. The position is focussed on urgently reviewing water sources and reviewing the framework for supply security for the region. You will be part of a connected and engaged team of professionals who support and value each other to achieve great things. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on the water supply security planning for South East Queensland. You will be working on a range of projects, investigations and initiatives aimed at improving water supply security and planning for urban water supplies. Flexible work location arrangements will be considered for this opportunity to facilitate an adaptive and agile workforce.

Key Accountabilities:
• Undertake and manage complex water supply security assessments and water supply solutions.
• Provide timely, expert, and authoritative advice on complex and emerging policy and planning issues relevant to urban water security.
• Undertake research and analysis and contribute to the development of policy, work practices and guidelines on complex urban water security planning and management issues.
• Analyse and communicate the results and implications of complex urban water security hydrologic modelling assessments (including historical, stochastic and climate change modelling).
• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders to meet organisational objectives and deliver sound advice.
• Provide support for the management of contractors.
• Prepare reports, submissions, briefings, presentations, correspondence, speeches, guidelines and other documents as required for a wide range of audiences including Ministers, clients and the general public.

About You:
• A Degree qualification relevant to the water industry and understanding of the urban water sector, urban water security planning and/or associated hydrologic modelling requirements would be highly regarded.
• Excellent writing skills to prepare submissions with demonstrated proactive project management skills.
• Occasional travel may be required.
