WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator provides technical leadership and support to the project team by planning, directing, and implementing stakeholder engagement activities. This role ensures a professional partnership among key stakeholders in the project area, including government agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and local communities, to manage natural resources effectively and sustainably. Additionally, this position will develop and implement stakeholder partnership strategies, engagement tools, and channels to achieve project outcomes in the project targer area.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU

  • Manage multi-disciplinary administrative and professional staff, with responsibility for performance management, training and career development. 
  • Gain cooperation from outside parties to accomplish program goals.
  • Financial responsibility may include working within/managing a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development, and meeting fundraising targets.        
  • Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.           
  • Under minimal supervision, makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.
  • May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.
  • Lead a series of activities to cultivate positive working relationships with key stakeholder groups, including statutory and non-statutory organizations, local and central government, environmental bodies, civil society organizations (CSOs), community groups, and other affected parties.
  • Facilitate the development of conservation strategy in the buffer zone of the project area.
  • Execute a range of activities to foster collaboration among various stakeholders in the project area by employing good governance and institutional development principles.
  • Assist the Project Lead in the development and updating of core project materials, reports, narratives, briefings, and presentations.
  • Conduct stakeholder engagement activities, including the planning and execution of workshops, community working groups, meetings, and focus groups.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify key issues, how they pertain to relevant stakeholders, and what mitigation measures can be implemented to minimize impacts.
  • Support the development and successful implementation of communications and stakeholder engagement plans, including detailed tactical delivery plans.
  • Prepare agendas and briefings for stakeholder meetings and produce minutes, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded in the database.
  • Maintain up-to-date stakeholder records that reflect the latest contact and engagement activities.
  • Research, populate, and manage a database of event and speaking opportunities, providing recommendations to project team members as appropriate.
  • Support reporting, evaluation, and analysis, including the maintenance of dashboards, in collaboration with key project team members.
  • Work collaboratively with all project team members.
  • Ensure that stakeholder responses and requests are communicated to technical teams, monitoring and analyzing feedback from stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that all contact is logged in the stakeholder engagement database.
  • Perform any other assigned duties as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • BA/BS, natural resource management, social science, law or business degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience negotiating in conflict resolutions. 
  • Experience leading workshops, working cross-culturally and develop strategies or solve problems through collaboration.
  • Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
  • Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers.         
  • Experience in training and curriculum design.
  • Proficient knowledge of an English.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated
  • Excellent documentation skill is desired.
  • Knowledge of land management conservation practice and conservation science.
  • Ability to explain conservation practices to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management, and natural resource preservation.
  • Completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
  • Excellent communication skills via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
