Job description

The Hydraulic Engineering Group at the Department of Civil Engineering of Universidad de Concepción, Chile, has an exciting full time opportunity for a Post-Doctoral fellow. This is a 9 months position on ANID Anillo project “Climate change and the sociohydrology of floods”. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary research group of civil engineers, hydrologists, sociologists, and geographers, among others. The project explores the mechanisms of the sociohydrology of floods through field surveys, interviews, and advanced hydrological modelling for evaluation of flood risk scenarios, and analyzes the interaction between the social and river systems through agent based models.

The successful applicant should have a PhD in engineering, environmental sciences, geography, sociology, or a related field.
