We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer (Water) to join our Auckland Water Infrastructure team in 2026. In this role you’ll work alongside our Senior Engineers assisting with key water infrastructure projects and further deepening your understanding of civil engineering principles. You will gain practical experience on impactful projects, including water infrastructure renewal packages, wastewater treatment plant upgrades, and large-scale sewer tunnels and pump stations, such as the Central Interceptor Project in Tāmaki Makaurau. We take pride in delivering this project, which brings significant environmental and community benefits. Our Graduate Programme is Award winning, and we will mentor you each step of the way to ensure your success.

As part of our team, you will have the chance to work on projects not only in Aotearoa New Zealand but also around the world. Our global presence means you can gain international experience and contribute to projects that make a difference on a global scale.

Here’s what you’ll need

Ideally, by January 2026 you’ll hold a university degree in Civil Engineering. This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold the right to work in Aotearoa New Zealand. Bring your curiosity, collaborative spirit and strong communication skills, and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfil what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Our 2026 Graduate Program

As a Graduate at Jacobs, you’ll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go. From gaining hands-on experience, to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you’ll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.

Our teams offer a supportive environment to help you to learn, grow and excel. Working under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday.

We see graduates as the future leaders of our business, which is why we’re delighted to have placed #23 in the  Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employers award for ‘Most Popular Employer’ in 2024 and featured in the Top 10 for ‘Most Popular Engineering Employer’ Award!
