The Senior Policy Officer will work to develop projects and policy designed to make sure Victoria’s water sharing framework meets the needs of current and future generations.
The position forms an integral part of the Hydrology, Climate and Energy team. In the role, you will lead projects to develop evidenced based policy that supports the water sector and Victorian communities to continue to be resilient to changing water availability and hydrology under plausible climate change and interception scenarios and water access to support Victoria’s clean energy transition.
Your work will involve creating thinking and problem solving, good communication skills for preparing briefings and correspondence for Ministers and executives. You will be able to use insights from highly technical information and stakeholder perspectives to develop clear and concise policy rationale.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, natural resource management or other relevant disciplines that relate to climate science and/or water resources is required.
- Previous water sector experience is highly desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
