Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
• Provide essential public facilities and services to block interpersonal transmission of COVID-19 and
other health emergencies and
• Strengthen the institutional capacity of selected local governments to contain the COVID-19 pandemic
and other health emergencies
Scope of Work
(i) Prepare the Standard Operating Procedures to manage contaminated solid waste in 15 project towns.
(ii) Assist in conducting activities to increase skills and knowledge on operation and maintenance of
facilities to 100 municipal and WUSC staff, members (33% women) of health and safety protocols to at
least 50 staffs of municipalities and Water Users’ Committees of 15 project towns.
(iii) Provide technical input in rehabilitation/ refurbishment or construction of public toilets, mobile
toilets or multipurpose centre accessories’.
Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output
• Report to the team leader and update the progress periodically and work under supervision of the team
leader
• Prepare generic SOPs as per method of disposal
• Organize dissemination workshops
• Field measurements, bill verification, preparation of variation orders and completion report.
• Assist team leader in preparation of completion report
Minimum Qualification Requirements
• Masters in Water Supply/ Sanitary/ Environmental Engineering/ Public Health/ Civil Engineering or
equivalent
Minimum General Experience: 7 Years
Minimum Specific Experience (relevant to assignment): 5 Years
