Responsibilities
- Participating in research projects related to Modeling and Integrated Assessment of Urban Water Systems .
- Writing scientific publications in national and international conferences/journals.
- Writing a PhD thesis is possible and encouraged.
- Participation in undergraduate education and supervision of bachelor and master projects as well as co-supervision of master theses.
- Support of administrative activities at the institute, like updates of the web page content, social media platforms or assisting at workshops or conferences, which are organized by the institute
Profile
Admission Requirements
Completed master’s degree or diploma in civil engineering, water resources management or environmental sciences or similar
Desired Qualification
Basic knowledge of at least one of the following topics/methods:
- Modeling of urban drainage systems
- Systems Analysis
- Big Data, Machine Learning and AI
- Urban flooding, risk assessment and climate change adaptation
Very good language skills in German and English (at least level C1)

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,007.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Organisational Unit
The Institute of Urban Water Management and Landscape Water Engineering at Graz University of Technology conducts research on sustainable water management solutions, especially in the context of climate change, urbanisation and blue green infrastructure. The main focus is on the modelling of urban hydrological processes, the optimisation of water supply and drainage systems, and the integration of digital methods for measurement and analysis. The Institute has a powerful IT infrastructure, including modelling software, GIS applications and an in-house computer cluster for data-driven simulations. In addition, a wastewater laboratory and a field measurement team are available to carry out quantitative and qualitative measurements in the field.
