 The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Project Officer to provide project management and stakeholder engagement support (which may include field work) to contribute to the development and delivery of the River Works Program.

About the role

You will play a key role in supporting the River Works team by providing project management support, coordinating stakeholder engagement activities and assisting with occasional field work (e.g. monitoring assessments along priority river reaches). The role will also involve liaising with external consultants to provide direction and technical oversight to deliver projects.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have experience in managing delivery and risks for multiple projects and working effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders.

Your project management experience will include the coordination of projects from inception through to completion with appropriate consideration to environmental and technical aspects, ensuring project outcomes comply with relevant state and federal legislation and approvals processes, and working with project partners, consultants and contractors to ensure consistent and transparent communication throughout the delivery of projects.

Your experience with stakeholder engagement will be critical to delivering several key projects, including; the development of a targeted capacity building program for landholders; the development of a Community and Stakeholder Engagement (CSE) plan; and the ongoing coordination of stakeholder meetings across several projects. 

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating environmental programs, including understanding of budgeting, procurement and stakeholder engagement.

Essential requirements

  • A current NSW Driver’s Licence
