Manitoba Infrastructure’s mission is to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable infrastructure and services for Manitoba and its communities.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.  Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer In Training (EIT) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba
  • Continuous standing. Continuous walking. Lifting and carrying (0-22 lbs) less than 20%
  • Working outdoors in both winter and summer in extreme temperatures. Working near or in water and on ice 
  • While at work sites in the province, exposure to roadway traffic, slip-trip-fall, carrying/twisting, insects, and vegetation & sharp objects

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Knowledge of hydraulic principles, hydraulic theories and modeling techniques 
  • Experience in conducting hydrologic analyses
  • Experience in the use of GIS tools in data processing and interpretation
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Ability to learn and work with appropriate industry software tools and technology to successfully complete assignments/projects 
  • Strong verbal communication skill with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
  • Effective written communication skills including ability to prepare technical and non-technical correspondence and reports

Desired:

  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Familiarity with prairie hydrology

Duties:
Reporting to the Senior Hydrologic Engineer, the position contributes to projects and initiatives within scope of authority and practice to contribute to overall program objectives of the branch. Provides technical support on other programs and functions that require involvement with the branch’s program.
