Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to assess and monitor the technical quality of WASH infrastructure and services under the BRAC WASH Programme. The position involves identifying implementation challenges, analyzing WASH designs and best practices both locally and internationally, and recommending context-specific solutions. Additionally, the role supports the documentation of pilot initiatives and ensures effective coordination with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather information of the current WASH infrastructural designs and practices at home and abroad; analyze the practices/designs and suggest context specific suitable designs/ solutions for the programme, as appropriate.
- Maintain an information hub of the technical aspects (Designs, BoQ, implementation guidelines, O&M guidelines etc.) of the WASH interventions (internal and external)
- Assist supervisor in conducting different studies/evaluation, surveys etc.; prepare reports, technical papers, presentations using available data, information, survey/study findings etc.
- Assist in the process documentation of the pilot initiatives (technical)
- Assist supervisor in preparing tools/checklists to perform technical monitoring of the WASH infrastructures that implemented by the programme
- Prepare monthly field monitoring plan and perform field monitoring visit using prescribed checklist/tools. Also collect and document case study, lessons learned, best practices etc. from the field.
- Analyze the field monitoring findings and produce periodic reports that highlight key findings, trends, and recommendations for program improvement. Ensure that the findings and lessons learned are utilized to inform adaptive management and decision-making.
- Assist supervisor to establish, develop and maintain relationships with the internal (Intra-programme) and external (intra-organization) WASH stakeholders
- Foster coordination and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including government authorities, NGOs, and other WASH stakeholders; gather knowledge and best practices on WASH implementation approach and modalities (technical and non-technical).
- Participate in WASH related coordination mechanisms, working groups, and networks and exchange knowledge and lesson learns
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

- Knowledge on using online based survey/MIS tools, like KoBo, mwater, ODK etc. is preferred

- Computer Literacy (MS-Word, SPSS Excel, power point, ChatGPT etc.)
- Data collection, analysis, presentation and reporting
Educational Requirements
B.Sc (Engg.) in Civil Engineering, Water Resource Engineering/ Management or any relevant subject
Experience Requirements
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience is preferred
