The Sustainability Director is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with SWPC’s corporate values, long-term business objectives, national commitments, and global sustainability frameworks. This role oversees environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, risk management, policy development, performance tracking, and sustainability reporting to ensure SWPC meets its sustainability goals and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strategic Accountabilities:
Develop a standalone sustainability vision and mission that reflects SWPC’s fundamental values and aligns with global frameworks.
Define SMART sustainability targets that align with both business priorities and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with national and international sustainability regulations and reporting standards.
Oversee the integration of sustainability principles across SWPC’s operations.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability awareness and best practices.
Role-Specific Accountabilities:
Sustainability Strategy & Policy Development:
- Develop and implement internal sustainability policies and procedures covering key areas such as environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance.
- Ensure sustainability policies are aligned with ESG frameworks and leading industry practices.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify potential risks associated with sustainability programs and establish mitigation measures.
- Integrate sustainability risks into SWPC’s corporate risk management framework.
Digital Sustainability Monitoring & Performance Tracking:
- Define and implement a digital platform to monitor sustainability initiatives and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide ongoing support to address challenges and ensure the successful execution of sustainability programs.
Sustainability Reporting & Communication:
- Develop SWPC’s annual sustainability report, highlighting the company’s sustainability initiatives, progress, and impact.
- Ensure sustainability reporting adheres to GRI, SASB, and other global reporting standards.
Capacity Building & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance SWPC’s readiness for Environmental Management System (EMS) preparation and implementation.
Establish partnerships with regulatory bodies, NGOs, and industry leaders to drive sustainability initiatives.
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with deep knowledge and specialized training or certification.
Minimum Experience:
6+ years of experience in sustainability management, environmental compliance, or ESG reporting.
Preferred Certifications:
GRI, LEED, ISO 14001, ESG Reporting Certification.
