The project titled ‘Integrated Water Resource and Quality Management Program in Andhra Pradesh aims at addressing the challenges of water scarcity, drought, and water quality in two mandals (Yarragondapalem and Pullalacheruvu) of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh. Implemented by the Vijayavahini Charitable Foundation (VCF), supported by Tata Trusts, the program seeks to implement sustainable water management solutions that can significantly enhance the quality of life for underserved communities in Prakasam.

Brief Job Description:

1. Project Implementation:
• Facilitate on-ground implementation of project activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.

2. Community Engagement:
• Facilitate the formation and strengthening of community institutions such as User Groups, Watsan/Watershed Committees, and SHGs.
• Promote community participation in planning, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of Drinking water and water Resource Development interventions.
• Ensure the inclusion of marginalized groups, such as women, smallholder farmers, and indigenous communities, in project activities.

3. Capacity Building and Awareness:
• Organize training sessions, workshops, and awareness programs for stakeholders on watershed principles, natural resource management, and social inclusion.
• Develop training modules for the project

4. Participatory Planning:
• Conduct participatory rural appraisals (PRA) to identify local needs, priorities, and resources.
• Support the preparation of water security/Village Action plans, ensuring community inputs and ownership.

5. Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor the social aspects of project implementation and assess community satisfaction.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports on community engagement, social challenges, and mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with technical teams to integrate social considerations into project activities.

6. Stakeholder Coordination:
• Liaise with local government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders for convergence and resource mobilization.
• Address social equity concerns and grievances effectively.

7. Perform other duties as and when required from time to time.

Key Deliverables
• Achieve an average increase of in the groundwater table in target areas.
• Ensure households gain access to improved safe drinking/domestic water.
• Bring hectares of land under irrigation.
• Train VWSC members on water management and conservation practices.
• Enhance water storage capacity by liters/cubic meters through desilting of structures.
• Prepare and validate Water Security Plans and [ Village Action Plans.
• Install community-level disinfection units (e.g., inline chlorination) in villages/hamlets.

Skills & Competencies
1. Technical Knowledge: Expertise in Social engineering aspects and knowledge of PRA techniques, community mobilization tools, and capacity-building methodologies.
2. Project Management: Strong planning, execution, and monitoring skills with experience in budget management, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring timely delivery.
3. Community Engagement: Proven ability to conduct awareness campaigns, promote behavior change, and engage diverse communities effectively.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Competence in designing M&E frameworks, analyzing data trends, and generating actionable reports to track project impact
5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Skilled in managing relationships with government bodies, private service providers, and local institutions to ensure smooth implementation
6 Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to address operational challenges, innovate solutions, and adapt to dynamic field conditions.
7 Advocacy and Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to advocate for project goals, develop reports, and present findings to stakeholders. Proficiency in local language (Telugu).
8 Data and IT Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office, data analysis tools, mobile data collection apps, and digital platforms for monitoring and reporting.

Experience:
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in social development sector, preferably in development projects like Water and Sanitation, watershed management or natural resource management projects. Health, Education and community based programs.
• Proven track record of working with rural communities and participatory planning
• Familiarity with government programs.

Qualification:
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Rural Development, or a related field.
