  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $77,460 base to $116,187 top + super

The Water Group is looking to appoint two (2) Project Engineers Water Modellers. These roles involve supporting the Manly Hydraulics Laboratory’s water modelling and hydrometric data collection projects across varied water and coastal engineering fields. You will work under senior staff on various water modelling and investigations projects, such as flood and environmental water studies, flood risk management and flood warning studies, coastal investigations and designs, physical and numerical modelling of coastal and hydraulic structure, amongst others, while ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage minor projects or contribute to larger ones, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Provide clear, thorough reports and documentation for senior staff and clients.
  • Contribute to innovative solutions and resolve client issues to satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and practices, applying them to project outcomes.
  • Prepare robust, financially viable fee proposals for less complex projects.
  • Assist in tender submissions and contract negotiations.
  • Support continuous improvement and promote the services of Manly Hydraulics Laboratory.
  • Deliver excellent client service, providing technical feedback, securing repeat business, and identifying new opportunities.
  • As this role requires you to undertake and coordinate a range of professional coastal and/or water engineering investigations, you will be expected to work in environments surrounded by or nearby water, and ability to swim would therefore be encouraged.

  • Managing competing timelines while maintaining exceptional client service.
  • Pursuing ongoing professional development to handle more complex tasks.

Essential requirements

  • Appropriate Tertiary Qualification in a relevant discipline at Degree level.
  • A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel, including overnight stay.
