What you’ll do: 

  • Assess and prioritise catchment and river health issues relating to water security, water quality and biodiversity in regulated river valleys across WaterNSW’s regional operations.
  • Build and manage collaborative relationships with government agency stakeholders, including engagement interviews and workshops.
  • Monitor developments in water security, water quality and biodiversity research and innovation, emerging risks and industry trends to identify improvements and opportunities for WaterNSW.
  • Investigate, interpret and synthesise scientific and grey literature from relevant external research programs and identify research gaps and opportunities to address key issues that are aligned with WaterNSW business needs and operating requirements.
  • Deliver high-impact research through planning and managing projects that provide actionable recommendations, and supporting translation of research outcomes into business benefits.

What we are looking for:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field relevant to the position
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence 
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and project delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in applied water resource and/or catchment research with an emphasis on river health.
  • Experience in providing technical and strategic recommendations to inform long-term planning and management.
