Water touches everything. Together we face the challenge of giving concrete form to safety, sustainability and a groundbreaking use of water. Together with our clients (mainly municipalities, water boards, the government, social organisations and private companies) we develop solutions for sufficient and clean water and the prevention of water nuisance. We do this by, among other things, using data intelligently and deploying information flows and models effectively.
To achieve this, we are looking for multiple urban water consultants/specialists (0.8-1FTE). Come Enhance Society Together!
What you do as a Specialist / Advisor Urban Water
Most of your time, you will be working as a content expert and advisor together with your team on projects to make the world a little better. You will make plans for new areas, test and optimize existing water systems using model calculations and you will advise on measures for a climate-proof design.
The projects you work on include sewer plans, climate stress tests, rainwater structure and disconnection plans, water tests and multi-year investment plans for the sewer system. Sometimes you also use your professional knowledge to provide very practical advice. Think of solving water nuisance problems on a plot in close consultation with the owner and the municipality or answering the question whether a section of sewer can still last a while, or whether it would be better to replace it at the same time as renovating an intersection.
Consultancy projects in urban water are becoming increasingly integrated and complex. In this complex environment, you will convert the customer’s request into the right technical issue. It is often necessary to use hydrodynamic calculation software to work out this technical issue. If you already have experience with performing hydraulic calculations, you will increase that knowledge with us. If you have no experience yet: no problem, you will learn it with us! In your daily work, you will also maintain a lot of contact with your fellow project team members and our customers. By using GIS and data management and scripting in one or more programming languages, you will arrive at good solutions for the problems of customers.
In addition:
- Will you set up, calibrate and validate integral models?
- Do you contribute substantively to projects and quotations and do you independently coordinate with clients?
- Will you work together in multidisciplinary teams?
- Do you actively contribute to the further development and expansion of the Urban Water field?
Depending on your place of residence, you will mainly work from our offices in Rotterdam (from 2024 Delft), Amsterdam, Goes, Eindhoven, Nijmegen, Zwolle or Amersfoort.
