AWWA is looking for an International Programs Specialist to help guide initiatives and policies that promote AWWA’s international partnerships, knowledge and cultural exchange, and humanitarian efforts to achieve a Better World through Better Water. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of International Programs and supports the International Council and AWWA’s growing and expanding international strategy. 

Essential Functions

  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate international program effectiveness to ensure these meet established goals and objectives. 
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between international partners.
  • Create and implement programs and activities to enhance knowledge exchange, cultural awareness and understanding.
  • Research and analyze cultural, economic, and political factors that impact international programs.
  • Manage budgets and ensure program funding is effectively utilized.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff and partners in the implementation of international programs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies in the implementation of international programs. 

Requirements

Education, Certifications or Formal Training:

  • College degree in a related field, such as international relations, business administration, marketing, and communications. 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience that includes minimum of 2 years of international business experience required.
  • Experience working with different cultures and strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Basic financial acumen with ability to plan and execute programs while staying within budget.
  • Experience with data analysis and development of easy-to-understand reports and graphs.
  • Proficient with MS Suite 

Compensation/Benefits

Pay is dependent upon qualifications; Pay range is targeted between $24.00 to $30.77 per hour and is paired with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
