We are inviting applications for the following vacancies in Water and Sanitation Sector in the state of Uttarakhand
Educational Qualification:
Post Graduate in Geology/ Hydrology geophysics/geochemistry/ environmental sciences or a related field.
Experience: 10 Years’ experience in relevant field (Water Shed Management, Water Resource Management, Water Harvesting & Grey Water Management Water and Sanitation)
Job Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive field investigations, encompassing site assessments, groundwater and spring water sampling, well monitoring, and aquifer delineation, while upholding best practices and safety standards in Dehradun and Tehri.
• Comprehensive mapping of springs and spring sheds in project sites.
• Understanding socio-economic and governance systems of springs.
• Hydrogeological mapping.
• Classification of spring type, identifying mountain aquifer and demarcating recharge area.
• Developing spring shed management and governance protocols and their impact assessment.
• Produce succinct technical reports elucidating findings, methods, and recommendations for clients, regulators, and stakeholders. Develop DEPR.
•Travelling to the assigned villages and conduct community assessments to understand local Watershed management issues, behaviors, and challenges specific to hilly terrains.
• Ensuring sustainable management of water resources while preserving the surrounding ecosystem.
• Conduct Environmental studies during the DEPR preparation and entire implementation with environmental safe guards.
• Analyze water quality and quantity and develop strategies for maintaining or enhancing water flow in streams and rivers.
•. Study the geology and hydrology of the springshed to understand recharge mechanisms and flow patterns and identify potential threats to the springs’ sustainability, such as land-use
• Protect and restore recharge zones through afforestation, soil conservation, and rainwater harvesting.
• Restore degraded ecosystems in the springshed to enhance natural recharge and water retention.
