Job Description:
Reporting to the Cluster Manager with matrix to the WASH Technical Program Manager, the WASH Technical Development Coordinator is the focal person for Water Supply, Sanitation, Hygiene projects at the Cluster level and is responsible for supporting the districts in planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating key project deliverables.
Program Implementation and Management (60%)
- Provide technical support to APs in the implementation of WASH projects and ensure that there is measurable deliverables of activities at the cluster level in line with the project objectives.
- Plan, organize and ensure that project activities are implemented for the targeted audience on time and budget spent according to the project plan.
- Supervise to ensure that WASH construction activities meet the acceptable standard and government requirements.
- Coordinate the process of community assessment in the district/AP to support project planning, monitoring and evaluation
- Engage in reviewing activity vs. budget plan in a monthly and quarterly basis to monitor the activity progress and budget utilization.
- Support in the drafting and implementation of Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs) within and outside the AP, to ensure timely and successful implementation of projects.
- Works with sponsorship staff to ensure that Registered Children and their households are participating and benefiting from WASH program intervention.
Program Development and grant Acquisition (20%)
- Assist the TP Manager and the grants team in resource mobilization for the expansion and diversification of WASH programming.
- Provide support on integrated implementation, monitoring and reporting of grants projects and private non-sponsorship projects within the AP.
Networking, Liaison and Advocacy (20%)
- Take a lead in establishing and sustaining effective strategic partnerships, networks, engagement, and liaison with key stakeholders/partners (existing and potential) at District and Community level in furthering the business of WV, to profile the organizations work, through the APs with more emphasis on advancing WASH program.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Water and Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Health, Public Health, Water Resource Management or any other relevant discipline.
- A valid driver’s license
- At least three (3) years’ experience in implementing rural water supply and sanitation projects.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and facilitating training, mentorship and capacity building of community leaders;
- Experience coordinating trainings, community activities and logistics at the field level;
- Direct experience implementing WASH programming is an added advantage;

- 20% Office-based
- Domestic travel when required
