Funding Opportunity: Conference Attendance for WASH/Water Resource Management Related Work

PRO-WASH & SCALE

Are you interested in presenting at a conference in 2025 on WASH / Water Resource Management Related Work and seeking travel funds? 

PRO-WASH & SCALE will fund up to three presenters who are/have worked with USAID BHA-funded emergency, early recovery, or resilience food security activities to present their WASH or water resource management work at an upcoming conference in 2025!  

This funding opportunity will include registration fees for a participant, international and local travel, visa fees, lodging, printing of materials (if applicable), and in-kind support to help design and develop content. Please note that the presenters’ organization must cover per diem, as per their travel policy, as well as any costs associated with submitting the abstract or hosting a session. 

Examples of Conferences  

More conferences will be posted once their dates and calls for abstracts are available, such as the SADC Groundwater Conference. Other places to look for conferences are the IWA Network Event Calendar, AMCOW Event Calendar, and IRC WASH Events Calendar.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Applicant must have an abstract accepted to an international conference  
  • Accepted abstract must be related to WASH or WRM undertaken as part of a BHA-funded activity  
  • Partners can submit multiple applications but up to only one person per accepted abstract will be funded  
  • Must work with PRO-WASH & SCALE on a blog, webinar, learning brief, or short video after the conference to share key learnings with the WASH, WRM, and food security communities  
  • Preference will be given to applicants from a country in which BHA implements programming 

Funding  

PRO-WASH & SCALE will cover the following costs: 

  • Conference registration fees for a participant (not the full cost of hosting an event if applicable)  
  • International and local travel  
  • Visa fees  
  • Lodging  
  • Printing of the poster and other printing needs if applicable)  
  • In-kind support to help design and develop presentations and posters
  • Note: the presenters’ organization must cover per diem, as per their travel policy as well as any costs associated with submitting the abstract or hosting a session  

If selected, participants must book their own conference fee registration and be reimbursed. They must also take required Save the Children travel trainings.
