We are looking for a predoctoral socioeconomic modeller with a background in mathematical programming (Python, GAMS, similar) to work on the ERC CoG WaterTheft project, funded by the European Union’s HORIZONTE EUROPE research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 101124884. Knowledge on mathematical programming optimization (PMP, PMAUP, LP) is a plus. The researcher will work on the preparation of the micro-economic database, in close collaboration with senior researchers working on microeconomic modelling and remote sensing estimates of land and water use; the setup of the novel mathematical programming models that enable multiple adaptive responses, in collaboration with senior microeconomic researchers with expertise on mathematical programming modelling; the integration of mathematical programming models and behavioural economics, in collaboration with senior microeconomic researchers with expertise on mathematical programming modelling; and the setup of a multimodel ensemble in collaboration with modellers in the group. Working language will be English.
The purpose of the contract is to carry out a doctoral thesis.
