Offer Description
Peri-urban areas are frontier environments, at the interface between urban fabric, agricultural activities and green spaces, and consequently typically host heterogeneous land cover and land uses, and critical infrastructure. The management of environmental resources may follow alternative, often competing criteria, and therefore requires an integrated approach and multidisciplinary methodologies. The research will focus on the monitoring and management of environmental resources, with particular attention to water and soil availability and quality. The social dimension of the project involves the active involvement and co-design of solutions with civil society to raise social awareness of the importance of water and soil resources and the environment in general.
The field activity is carried out at the Off Campus Cascina Nosedo, a centre for developing and sharing trans-disciplinary expertise.
