We have an exciting opportunity to support the water data needs of various business units of Goulburn Murray Water (GMW) and work with stakeholders in our region and beyond.
GMW is Australia’s largest rural water corporation, managing 70 per cent of Victoria’s stored water resources and Australia’s largest irrigation delivery network. We provide services to 25,000 customers, supporting a diverse, productive and sustainable region.
About the Role
GMW is seeking someone with relevant data management experience to join our team. The Senior Management Systems Officer will play a key role ensuring our data management systems support the teams relying on data to make business decisions.
This position contributes to the data management needs in our River Operations, Water Quality, Groundwater and Streams and Drainage Systems teams.
Based in the Tatura office with flexible home working arrangements, your core responsibilities will include:
- Apply professional knowledge and judgement to the analysis of issues and problems relating to the Water Management Systems used by GMW
- Perform the role of Application Administrator for Water Management Systems to ensure the appropriate operation of these critical business systems
- Work with internal and external service providers to implement functional and process improvements to the Water Management Systems
- Undertake projects or investigate new and updated methods or technologies in water resource data management
What do you need?
- Experience in using and managing hydrological monitoring data and equipment
- Data management skills and knowledge of data transfer processes
- A bachelor’s degree relevant to water, science or natural resource management, data analysis and interpretation or a related field is highly desirable.
- Computer coding and programming skills are desirable
