Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages all aspects of program development and execution
  • Prepares, manages and controls program budgets and financial reporting
  • Leads the development of program materials and resources with input from internal and external stakeholders
  • Engages and works in collaboration with program staff, TRCA divisions and external partners, stakeholders, working groups or committees to maximize resources and program impact
  • Preparation of reports, memos, technical briefs, magazine articles, web postings and/or delivery of presentations related to program
  • Maintains existing professional contacts and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manages and hosts training events, workshops, community events, or seminars related to program area
  • Leads a team of staff and ensures that team members understand expectations; communicates schedule, tasks and discusses priorities of items
  • Manages employee performance and individual team performance
  • Ensures staff/volunteers/contractors, as applicable, comply with health & safety policies, and other TRCA policies, as applicable in various work environments.
  • Undertakes the design of program communications and community outreach

What will you need to succeed:

Education (degree/diploma/certifications)

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Natural Sciences, Water Resources, or a related field
  • Valid Ontario Class G2 driver’s license

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in program management or providing program coordination/planning, in relevant field
  • 1+ years of progressive supervisory or project/program management/coordination experience
  • Demonstrated experience writing reports and working with budgets
  • Experience managing relationships and community partnerships

Knowledge/Skill/Ability – Competencies

  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusion principles
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of program management and risk management concepts
  • Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to conduct community partner engagement and facilitate program discussions
  • Strong budget management and cost control skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
