JOB DESCRIPTION

- Location: Turkey (Ankara)
- Project: Establishement of Ecoregions Based Ecological Assesment System of Water Quality in Turkiye. The main objective of the project is to build Turkey’s capacity to implement the Water Framework Directive’s monitoring standards, in particular for the establishment of an ecological assessment system of water quality.
The team leader will be the primary contact point for all the communications and be responsible for the overall implementation of the project, including management of the team of key and other experts, timely submission of required reports, coordination of all project activities and aspects, organisation and supervision of all project management matters, liaison with the Contracting Authority, end recipient and other stakeholders. A significant presence of the Team Leader in Türkiye during the entire project duration is considered essential for the success of this project. The team leader is expected to work at least 85% of the project duration in Turkey.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in at least one of the followings: Ecology, Biology, Hydrobiology, Environmental Sciences, Water Science or Water Engineering, Natural Sciences or equivalent.
- Good command of written and spoken English; Strong computer literacy skills.
- General professional experience
- At least 10 years overall professional experience in the field of ecology.
- Specific professional experience
- Experience with having held a Team Leader or equivalent position in at least one project in regard to the implementation of the WFD’s ecological requirements;
- At least 5 years’ experience in the field of WFD implementation such as ecological assessment system of water quality or biological monitoring or hydromorphological monitoring or identification of reference conditions or development of biological or hydromorphological indices.
