We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Associate Hydrogeologist to join our Sustainable Land and Resource Management team. The office location will be Mumbai or Bangalore.
We are seeking a confident and driven hydrogeologist with a strong technical background and experienced in a range of projects to take a leading role, working with our experienced staff, to deliver excellence to our clients. Our client and project base are highly diverse with current projects in the nuclear new build, oil and gas, regeneration and redevelopment and major road and rail sectors around the world. We are looking for someone with the drive and enthusiasm to embrace the future of the industry. The successful candidate will be an important part of an innovative and technically excellent team, helping deliver projects to a number of the largest UK-based and international infrastructure projects. We are looking for highly motivated, proactive, confident and ambitious individual with excellent communication, writing and presentation skills and proven experience in the field of hydrogeology. As a member of our team, you will be involved in range of projects with a proven technical, commercial and project management track record. AtkinsRéalis’ hydrogeologists use the full range of their skills, working on land contamination, engineering hydrogeology and water resources projects as well as providing innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Support various regions in providing technical guidance, constructive support.
- Mentoring to junior staff and supporting their technical development and grow the team.
- Review and technical overview of complex numerical models relating to groundwater flow, contamination transport and civil engineering challenges.
- Review and provide technical guidance for hydrogeological aspects of small and large scale multi-disciplinary projects including modelling, HRAs, EIAs, detailed design, PRAs, etc.
- Work with the regions to develop new business and clients to win work and preparation of commercial offers.
- Project management and technical delivery of a wide variety of projects including management of finances, and programme delivery.
- Liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, sub contractors and other internal disciplines.
- Developing own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role, with support from the business on own training and development needs.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified (BSc) in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g., geology, geotechnics, hydrogeology, chemistry, environmental science).
- Master’s qualified (MSc) in a relevant specialism preferred, but not essential.
- Chartered with GeolSoc, IES, IEMA, CIWEM or equivalent or can work towards getting one in 6 months.
- A minimum of 10 years relevant post-graduate experience (ideally within a consultancy environment), with a track record track record in winning and delivering high-profile work.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of common analytical modelling packages such as P20, ConSim, RAM, with further experience in numerical groundwater modelling including MODFLOW, FEFLOW as well as 2-D packages such as SEEP/W. Development of models using scientific programming language (e.g., Fortran, MATLAB, Python).
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of project management of hydrogeology projects including managing project teams resulting in delivery to high standards.
- Commercial awareness and understanding including being able to complete tenders.
- A proven track record in winning work and leading Key Account Management with clients.
- Driven to support digital innovation and finding new digital ways of working.
