Description of the workplace

The position is in the Membrane Group of the Division of Chemical Engineering, Department of Process and Life Science Engineering at Lund University. The Membrane Group is the most established Membrane Group in Sweden and has MemLab – Industrial membrane process re-search and development centre – an excellent infrastructure to develop and optimize membrane processes from lab to pilot scale. Work duties

The main duties involved in this researcher position is to conduct research related to two projects: (1) 3D-PhotoCAD – 3D Printed, Self-Regeneratable Photocatalytic Filters as Hydroxyl Radical Manufacturer: A Lab to Pilot Scale Approach (3D Printed, Self-Regeneratable Photocatalytic Filters as Hydroxyl Radical ManufacturerA Lab to Pilot Scale Approach — Lund University) funded by SSF and (2) DESOLINATION – DEmonstration of concentrated SOLar power coupled wIth advaNced desAlinaTion system in the gulf region (DEmonstration of concentrated SOLar power coupled wIth advaNced desAlinaTion system in the gulf regION. — Lund University) funded by EU-Horizon.  Since, the position is related to funded projects with international partners some pre-defined targets have to be achieved and reported. The incumbent may be involved in teaching related to the research project.

Description of the work duties:

  • Research related to the 3D-PhotoCAD and DESOLINATION projects.
  • Teaching in the first, second and third cycles of studies.
  • Supervision of degree projects.
  • Actively seeking external research funding
  • Collaboration with industry and wider society
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualifications

Appointment to the position as a researcher requires that the applicant has a PhD in relevant subject.

Required qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering focusing on membrane processes and membrane production.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English. 

Additional requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in planning and conducting lab and pilot scale experiments, i.e. with membrane systems.
  • Proven experience with Design of Experiment (DoE).  
  • Established knowledge related to the following membrane processes: forward osmosis, membrane distillation, electrodialysis and membrane bioreactors.
  • Experience with 3D-Printing.   
  • Proven experience on membrane production and membrane spacer design.

The position is a fixed term position for 11 months at 100 % per cent of full time.
