The Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN), the leading global hub for the smart water sector, is hiring an immediate Marketing Director (remote position) to handle diverse marketing and communication responsibilities. With strong brand recognition, SWAN is seeking a motivated marketing professional to manage social media platforms, lead graphic design and marketing collateral creation for our remote, global team, and support marketing analytics efforts as we transition to becoming a more data-driven organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Be representative of SWAN’s “voice” across all our communications
  • Develop and oversee our global marketing strategy
  • Keep in constant touch with SWAN Member marketing key contacts
  • Create, schedule, and post engaging/compelling content across various social media platforms to grow brand awareness and engagement
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, social, and print) while tracking their effectiveness
  • Proactively coordinate, create and launch periodic newsletters
  • Collaborate closely with the global SWAN team and meet their marketing needs (e.g. flyer creation, marketing messages, etc.) according to specific deadlines
  • Monitor CRM (Nutshell, esp. for marketing contacts), SEO, Google Analytics, and other user engagement metrics and provide constructive feedback to the team
  • Curate new and creative marketing initiatives to increase member engagement and further strengthen retention efforts
  • Create tailored infographics/other visuals to support marketing and research
  • Coordinate press releases and support write-up process
  • Stay up to date on the latest industry news and social media best practices

Requirements:

  • Passion for the water industry!
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven background in digital marketing and/or social media management
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a team
  • A results-oriented mindset with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Exceptional creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook
  • Previous experience with digital marketing tools (Canva, Buffer, Hootsuite, Adobe Photoshop, video editors) and project management tools (Trello, Slack)

Plus/Bonus Points:

  • Experience with AI related tools to increase marketing productivity is a plus (e.g. MidJourney, Canva AI)
  • Experience with paid advertising/campaigns is a plus
  • Familiarity with utilising data to drive marketing strategies & campaigns effectively by:
    • Analysing member and lead data (e.g. case study contributions, report clicking, etc.) to identify best practices/adjust engagement strategies accordingly
    • Utilising analytical tools to measure and report on campaign performance
    • Preparing regular reports on marketing performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations for future initiatives. Continuously testing and optimising strategies based on performance metrics and market feedback

Important Notes:

  • The position is remote; all employees are self-employed contractors
  • Required time commitment of ~30-40 hours per week TBD based on experience
  • Potential for bonuses based on performance
  • Three-month paid trial period upon starting date (ideally early Nov. 2024)
  • Salary range: 3,000-4,000 monthly GBP
