As an Operations Engineer for Stormwater Pond Safety, you will be directly involved with the on-going effort to review safety surrounding The City’s stormwater ponds, including review and evaluation of assessments undertaken to date, validating the assessments, developing appropriate responses, assessing residual risks and trade-offs associated with each response, planning and designing infrastructure amendments using internal or external resources, and reporting for various audiences, which may include City Council.
Primary duties include:
•Conduct on-the-ground investigations of existing ponds and related infrastructure.
•Provide project management and engineering support for risk assessment, planning, design, construction and reporting.
•Provide procurement support by issuing and managing contracts in support of the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure amendments.
•Provide indirect supervision of personnel and vendors planning, designing, and estimating for construction of pond-related infrastructure.
•Liaise with other business units to develop communication strategies as part of the risk responses.
