Project Engineer for Integrated Water Management Program

Technology Informatics Design Endeavour (TIDE) is a 30-year-old Bangalore based NGO providing technology solutions for societal needs. TIDE seeks a full time Engineer for “Implementation of Simplified Sewer System and Decentralised Sewage Treatment Plant at Kandavara Economically Weaker Section Colony, Chikkaballapura.”
This program is being implemented in partnership with the DMI Housing Finance Private Limited. The main objective of the project is to provide 62 households access to functional Individual Household Toilets by providing access to a Simplified Sewer System and a Decentralised Sewage Treatment Plant in Kandavara Economically Weaker Section colony, Chikkaballapura.
Primary Responsibilities of Project engineer is:
• Develop project plans, timelines, and coordinate with partners (DMI) and stakeholders.
• Oversee the design, layout, and construction of the sewer system and treatment plant.
• Monitor on-site activities, ensure safety, and maintain construction quality.
• Engage residents and train workers on system usage and maintenance.
• Provide regular project updates and reports to partners and authorities.
• Track expenses, manage vendor contracts, and ensure timely completion of works.
• Technical documentation including preparation of concept notes, assessment reports, content for knowledge materials
Desired qualifications, expertise, and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering, with a Master’s in any relevant engineering field is optional.
• Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and proficiency in engineering drawing and design, including relevant software.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, focusing on WASH interventions
• Good understanding or experience in implementing WASH solutions at the city level.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Good communication skills in English and Kannada.
• Experience working in small towns, particularly in Karnataka.
Terms of employment:
1. Location of Employment: TIDE’s office at Chikkaballapura, with frequent travel to project sites in the area. Travel to the head office in Bangalore will be required on a need basis.
2. Salary will be at par with the sector for candidates meeting the above requirements. The final offer will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, expertise, and experience.
