The Water Systems and Hydrometric Operations branch in the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing, and Water is seeking a passionate individual to lead administration and business support for the state-wide water monitoring program. In this role, you will coordinate and manage the procurement, purchasing, and contract management of water monitoring equipment and instrumentation. Your work will play a critical part in ensuring the efficient operation and sustainability of Queensland’s water monitoring efforts.

Key Duties and Accountabilities
• Apply the Financial Management Practice Manual and associated departmental standards, policies and procedures relating to the management of the State’s water monitoring network assets.
• Coordinate the general and financial administration systems and processes for Hydrometric Operations, including:
o procurement and purchasing of water monitoring equipment, instrumentation, and consumables, and assisting business areas to comply with procurement policy and procedures.
o providing support with procurement and inventory management to the Senior Project Officer for the annual Capital Works Program.
• Liaise and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, including escalating issues and undertaking negotiations to ensure supply is responsive to current and future needs.
• Assist clients in a relevant, timely and accurate manner on matters relating to the Contract management function, contract management policies and practices, internal processes and templates used to deliver contract management services.
• Provide advice and customer support services to the hydrometric and water monitoring business.
• Support business improvement initiatives associated with water resource measurement processes and policies.
• Contribute to a cohesive team environment by sharing information, supporting, and assisting colleagues in a proactive manner.
