Role: Analyst Consultant – Water (Environmental)

We are currently looking for an Analyst Consultant to join our Water team. Much of our work is for water companies but also covers wider infrastructure projects for developers and support for other commercial organisations, where high quality data capture and analysis is essential to assess inform environmental assessments.
You will form part of the team supporting our consultants working across a variety of projects in our water, ecology and environmental impact assessment teams. There is also the opportunity to work with other parts of our business with the aim of helping to develop a portfolio of projects where our water related expertise can complement other environmental assessments.
Key responsibilities
- Fieldwork support for aquatic, terrestrial and ground environmental surveys.
- Data collection through site surveys and monitoring programmes.
- Data processing, analysis, interpretation and visualisation using Excel and GIS.
- Desk studies, literature reviews, option appraisals, impact assessment and reporting.
- Project co-ordination and management.
Key competencies and experience
- Bachelors (2.1 or above) and ideally a post graduate degree in a relevant subject.
- Understanding environmental sciences and/or physical geography.
- Thorough experience of using Excel and GIS packages (such as ArcGIS and QGIS).
- Experience of reviewing and interpreting datasets, with excellent analytical skills.
- Effective report writing skills.
- Ability to fault find and problem solve in challenging environments.
- Effective time management skills.
- Willingness to learn from contributing to a broad range of fieldwork and office-based tasks.
- A full UK driver’s licence.

Desirable
- Previous consultancy, regulator or water company experience.
- Chemistry, water quality or hydrogeology background.
- Water safety training.
- Client facing experience.
