Introduction
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Environmental Management’s Bureau of Drinking Water and Groundwater is accepting applications for a Private Water Supply Field Supervisor to supervise professional drinking water and groundwater staff in their implementation of private water supply activities.
The Private Water Supply Field Supervisor position may be headquartered in any DNR Service Center in WI, depending on space availability and the location of the selected candidate.

Position Summary
Private Water Supply Field Supervisor (Natural Resources Region Program Manager): This position is responsible for the management and supervision of the field component of private water supply aspects of the state drinking water and groundwater programs. The position plays a key role in developing and implementing statewide policy, ensuring public health protection of drinking water consumers, and protecting water resources.

Salary Information
Private Water Supply Field Supervisor starting salary is between $43.00 – $50.00 / hour ($89,440 – $ 104,000) depending on qualifications. Plus, excellent benefits.
The classification is Natural Resources Region Program Manager which is in schedule-range 81 – 02. Pay on appointment will follow the provisions of the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan.

Probationary Period: A two-year Career Executive trial period may be required.
Remote Work: Based on an assessment of the goals and work activities, this position may be eligible for remote work. Remote work approval is based on individual circumstances and is subject to supervisor approval and DNR telework policies. Approval is subject to change without notice based on business needs.

Travel: This position requires regular travel, including overnight stays, throughout the state to oversee field operations and participate in leadership team meetings.
Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in water well construction practices, geology, hydrology, bacteriology, water chemistry or public health or comparable work experience.
- Work experience with private or public water supply systems.
- Experience leading a team to accomplish a goal (could be formal or informal team leadership, project management, etc.).
In addition, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following qualifications:
- Professional level experience in applied drinking water and groundwater management (public water supply systems, private water supply systems, groundwater standards and/or public health)
- Experience serving as a formal supervisor (e.g., hiring, coaching, monitoring performance and providing feedback, disciplining, etc.).
- Developing or revising policies specifically related to drinking water and/or groundwater water quality.
