Job Summary: The Project Manager at the Center for Climate Change, Water Security, and Environmental Sustainability at the American University in Iraq—Baghdad (AUIB) will handle the Center’s logistical aspects. The role involves supporting research initiatives, facilitating communication among team members, organizing events and activities in the Center, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The PM will also work with DD to liaise with Iraqi universities, ministry officials, and other officials as needed. She/he will help the DD to navigate the technical aspects of challenges related to climate change, water security, and environmental sustainability in Iraq, ensuring that all initiatives align with the country’s unique socio-economic context.

Education and Experiance:

  • A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in a research or academic setting.
  • Experience with climate change, water security and/or environmental sustainability projects is highly desirable.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
