Job Description

The Global Futures Laboratory of Arizona State University is currently looking for a Research Analyst to support the Arizona Water Innovation Initiative (AWII). The Research Analyst will work primarily with researchers from the Impact Water – Arizona program of AWII to turn qualitative and mixed methods data into actionable, publishable research deliverables.

The Impact Water – Arizona program directly funds projects and supports ASU faculty and staff in implementing engagement activities and developing use-inspired research and tools to address Arizona’s water challenges. Spearheaded by the Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation, the program operates in partnership with the Kyl Center for Water Policy and the Decision Theater. Impact Water – Arizona plays a vital role in ASU’s Arizona Water Innovation Initiative, fostering community awareness and involvement to tackle water challenges and propel solutions in the state. By collaborating across diverse expertise and resources, the program is sparking knowledge, inspiring engagement, and instigating transformative change for a more secure and resilient water supply.

This role provides support to AWII’s User Experience team, and involves planning, executing, and overseeing various tasks to ensure the successful cataloging and analysis of research to benefit academic, government, and public arenas. Currently, this data is primarily qualitative in nature, but quantitative and mixed-methods data is present. A researcher who can work with qualitative data primarily and quantitative data secondarily is desired. A familiarity with a wide range of data collection methods (surveys, focus groups, interviews, user experience tests, and more) is an important aspect of the position. The position involves close collaboration with multiple project leads, stakeholders, and the AWII User Experience Architect. This position also involves teamwork, independent task completion, and self-directed work. The Research Analyst performs additional independent research and tasks as assigned.
