The Role
Project Officer (Water Management and Use) are responsible for coordinating and providing business support to the Director, Water Management and Use and the Mangement team by coordinating the provision of administration, human resources, finance and other activities as required.
The Water Managment and Use team is a large team comprising of approximately 60 staff. This position is critical to support the Director and Leadership team to ensure timeframes are met, work is consistently delivered, and departmental initiatives are undertaken. Project Officer is required to proactively participate in an enthusiastic team to build a positive, outcome focused culture.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
• Provide effective administrative support in relation to the operations of the d operational service support. Other duties include maintaining central email accounts and diary management (where required); acting as secretariat for meetings; booking travel; andbusiness unit such as human resource, financial an communicating financial reporting updates.
• Utilise information technology and financial systems to monitor, investigate and analyse financial data;
subsequently implementing the necessary measures to ensure compliance and general ledger integrity.
• Provide advice to the Director and Management Team regarding workflow management and service delivery issues across the Water Management & Use workforce.
• Collate data and provide accurate input to the preparation of reports and correspondence.
• Support project management and reporting systems and identify opportunities which will add value to the business needs.
• Undertake purchasing activities and coordinate matter associated with budget, assets and human resources for the Director Water Management & Use.
• Demonstrate innovation and enthusiasm in developing, implementing, maintaining and reviewing administrative systems and procedures in the Water Management & Use Team. Perform accurate document and record management activities, including hard copy and electronic file management.
