Job Purpose
With water being one of the most important issues facing Colorado, Resource Central partners with over 50 municipalities to promote water conservation. We seek an energetic individual, ready to learn new skills, get their hands dirty, and help us scale our program to make a lasting difference in Colorado communities. As the Senior Water Program Coordinator, your role is central to our Lawn Replacement Program focusing on operations and leading our seasonal crews.
This role requires full-time on-site presence during the field season and offers hybrid flexibility with remote work during the offseason. Principal Responsibilities The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
During the Field-work Season (April to October):
- Lead field crews, providing oversight and guidance to ensure efficient and effective operation of sod removal.
- Operate and maintain sod cutters, drive trucks with trailers, and engage in hands-on manual labor as needed, demonstrating a willingness to get dirty and work alongside the team.
- Coordinate and schedule crew assignments, optimizing resources and ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for field staff, addressing their concerns, providing support, and ensuring clear communication between field operations and administrative teams.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols and quality standards in the field, ensuring compliance with established procedures and maintaining a high level of workmanship.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide feedback to improve operations and address any issues that arise.
- Create a positive, supportive team culture by encouraging open communication, celebrating successes, and fostering a sense of community among our field employees, helping everyone feel valued and motivated.
Year-Round and During the Offseason (October to March):
- Work towards team objectives and collaborate with other team members to successfully run the Lawn Replacement Program.
- Play a key role in the development, implementation, and improvement of program operations with a focus on enhancing efficiency and scalability.
- Conduct research and utilize problem-solving techniques to identify and address program challenges, fostering innovative solutions to enhance program effectiveness.
- Develop training and educational materials for homeowners to support irrigation improvements and lawn replacement projects.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to take initiative, solve problems and manage projects independently and while directing teams.
- Experience in operations, fieldwork, sustainability or water conservation.
- Experience maintaining and repairing equipment, small engines, and flat tires.
- Familiarity with water conservation, irrigation systems, and/or waterwise landscaping is strongly preferred.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to complete physical labor, including being able to safely lift a maximum of 50 lbs, and willingness to work outside in most conditions.
- 2 years of experience in program coordination or operations in a related professional industry.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Travel to Front Range cities is required, with occasional trips to cities outside the Front Range, which may involve overnight stays.
