- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $106,025 to $117,363 + super
The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Communications & Engagement Advisor to support implementation of strategic communications and engagement activities for various Water Group priority programs and projects. The role supports the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of communications and engagement strategies and activities, with a strong focus on stakeholder and community engagement.
Working within the Water Group’s Communications, Media and Engagement branch, the role works closely with a range of other teams in the department to help ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to external communications and engagement activities. This role will go to December 2026.
Key Accountabilities
- Supporting the development and delivery of communication and engagement activities (with a strong focus on stakeholder and community engagement) in support of sensitive and complex water infrastructure projects, programs and policies.
- Identifying emerging stakeholder matters/issues and quickly synthesising information across multiple competing projects.
- Assisting the implementation and delivery of a wide range of stakeholder and community engagement activities, including stakeholder identification and mapping, maintaining stakeholder databases, event coordination of town hall meetings, consultation forums, face to face meetings and online engagement.
- Assisting in the development of communication materials to execute over a range of channels.
- Providing communications project support to the communications team when required.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in communications/engagement or other related discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience.
- Drivers Licence
- Willingness to travel to regional and metro areas across NSW
