Description
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Michigan is conducting an open search for a full-time tenure-track faculty candidate at the assistant professor level. This is a university-year appointment with an expected start date of August 25, 2025.
Applicants with research and teaching interests in all areas that fall within the broad fields of Earth and environmental sciences are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in candidates with interests that fall within five key areas identified in our most recent strategic plan (in no particular order): (1) Water on our Changing Planet, (2) Climate, Ecosystems, and Biogeochemistry, (3) Earth’s Surface and its Hazards, (4) Evolution of Life and the Rock Record, and (5) Solid Earth Dynamics.
Qualifications
The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Applicants must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.
