Offer Description
Traditional drought classifications include meteorological, agricultural, hydrological and socioeconomic aspects but understanding the impact of increased human demand for water on extreme environmental conditions is often overlooked. Human activities significantly influence drought propagation, particularly in connections between meteorological and hydrological droughts (CMHD). Recent studies have identified human activities as a key driver of CMHDs, climate variability, and watershed characteristics.
Through water balance modeling and comparison with modeling and observation databases, the research proposal aims to distinguish human influences on CMHD from natural variability and correspondingly identify anthropogenic drought in some significant areas of our country.
