Consultancy purpose and background

International Rivers is seeking a consultant who is experienced in advocacy focused on public development banks and can coordinate advocacy activities targeting the role of the World Bank in financing megadams.

Consultant location: Remote, preferably in the US, particularly Washington, DC 

Language: Competence in English. French would be advantageous

Application deadline: 6 September 2024

Reports to: Africa Program Director 

Duration of consultancy: 1 October 2024 – 15 December 2024

Deliverables and Responsibilities

Organize and support Congolese partners and directly affected communities on project advocacy visit to Washington, DC aimed at engaging key decision makers at the World Bank as well as allied NGOs working on advocacy and reform of development finance. Tasks would include advocacy strategy and support, identifying decision makers and setting up meetings, logistics related to DC travel, assisting with messaging and talking points, media support, drafting letters, and follow-up.
