Offer Description
The main topic of this study is mainly focused on the chemical analysis of soils and waters from the former mining areas of southern Tuscany (presently under remediation) with particular reference to mercury and antimony. The research fellow is required to have knowledge of sampling and preparation procedures for soil and water for the determination of heavy metals. Specific knowledge of the Lumex instrumentation connected to the Pyro system for the determination of the concentration and speciation of mercury in soils and of the Lumex instrumentation connected to the RP-92 system for the determination of mercury in water is required. To the grant holder is requested experience in the use of instruments for the analysis of main, minor and trace species in water. The grant holder has to be able to interact with the local authorities dealing with mining areas and produce reports related to the interpretation of the obtained data.
