JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose or Objective(s). The Water Resources Sr. Planner will manage the Sustainable Water Policy program and the office management of the Sustainable Communities program. You will report to the Director of Water Resources.

 Primary Tasks:

1.       You will manage the Sustainable Water Policy program and the office management portion of the Sustainable Communities program.

2.       You will oversee the data recruitment, identification of sustainable pathways for water related deficiencies, and the development of comprehensive analyses to establish a framework for implementation of suggested actions or documents to assist communities to increase sustainable management of water resources.

3.       You will oversee the identification of grant opportunities and collaborates with project managers to coordinate funding and grant opportunities related to water planning, environmental and economic sustainability and improvements within the reservation.

4.       You will oversee the interpretation of all reports to develop water resource planning documents and comprehensive reports and present findings to leadership and other stakeholders.

5.       You will oversee the development of long-term planning documents, alternative water source supply plans, and concise all documents and present findings to leadership and stakeholders.

6.       Maintain professional working relationships with communities, towns, and organizations to understand community, environmental, and economic needs including data analysis, report development, and action items for sustainability.

7.       Project management of water related federal grant funded projects and community water projects.

8.       You will attend/participate in networking and conference opportunities to increase knowledge of current best practice regarding the treatment and solutions for environmental issues.

9.       You will present to community leaders and stakeholders at different environmental, economic, and rural/urban development platforms. Provide outreach to communities regarding multiple environmental, economic, rural development, urban development, and Water Settlement Agreement benefits.

10.   Other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

·         Bachelor of Science Degree and 3 years relevant experience or;

·         7 years of relevant experience in water resource planning and urban planning

·         Ability to identify data gaps, conduct analyses, and compose comprehensive documents. 

·         Experience with scientific protocols, scientific reports, public speaking, and gap identification

·         Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) software

·         Knowledge of Oklahoma water law, policies, and regulations

·         Experience in public works, resource assessment and planning.

·         Experience in data analysis, and technical report development
