We are currently recruiting to ASO4 Stewardship Officer and ASO5 Senior Stewardship Officer positions.

As a Stewardship Officer you will:

  • Support rural land managers, community, and industry groups in caring for the region’s land, water, and nature.
  • Connect land managers with essential information and resources to enhance their land stewardship practices.
  • Provide practical advice on land management, including native vegetation care, revegetation, biodiversity conservation, climate-ready agriculture, and the management of soils, watercourses, wetlands, and dams.
  • Conduct property visits, support property planning, and run events, field days, and short courses.

Additionally, Senior Stewardship Officers manage on-ground projects, handle grant applications, ensure compliance, develop educational resources and supervise at least one Stewardship Officer.

About you

  • You have knowledge of and experience in land management principles and practices, including control of pest plant and animal species, habitat restoration, water management and/or agriculture management.
  • You have experience coordinating events, presenting and relaying technical information verbally and in writing so it can be clearly understood by varying audiences.
  • You have experience collaborating with organisations and groups.
  • You have experience with collection and collation of data for monitoring, evaluation and reporting purposes.
  • You have ability to understand, interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations.

Contract

  • One full-time (37.5 hrs/per week), ASO5 Senior Stewardship Officer 3 year position available immediately.
  • Additional successful applicants will become part of a recommended pool and may be offered employment at any time over a 12 month period.
  • Successful applicants will be placed in one of our regional stewardship teams servicing either the Fleurieu, Adelaide Hills or Eastern Hills and Plains regions.

Requirements:

  • National Police Check
  • The applicant must be willing to undertake and satisfactorily complete accredited training that relates to the administration of the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 and other relevant legislation.
  • Current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness to drive is essential.
  • Australian residency or a current work permit.

Remuneration:
Senior Stewardship Officer (ASO5): $85,790 – $95,413 per annum.
Stewardship Officer (ASO4): $76,561 – $80,256 per annum
