The Centers for International Projects Trust (CIPT), a research and development organization are seeking to design and implement water solutions in some of India’s most challenging settings. In collaboration with government agencies, civil society, and private sector partners, CIPT is developing new models and research paradigms for effective water and energy management, food security, and climate resilience in various States of India. CIPT aims to provide rigorous, research-based knowledge as the foundation for its various field-based initiatives involving the local communities, government, non-government, and private partners. It pursues a holistic approach to water sustainability assessment, sustainable agriculture, and farmers’ livelihood and ecological systems management.
About the Project:
CIPT has established a regional office in Ludhiana, Punjab. CIPT seeks Operations Coordinator to implement a program, “Building a Water-Efficient Agriculture Model, across Punjab”. The proposed program addresses the problem of over-exploitation, inefficient use of groundwater resources, and stagnating farm incomes in Punjab agriculture. The program will focus on expanding outreach, knowledge building, and promoting large-scale water use efficiency interventions across 12 districts of Punjab. CIPT is looking for Graduates in Agricultural Sciences as Operations Coordinator who will be responsible for the efficient program implementation in clusters of cooperatives/villages in a district of Punjab.
Job Description – Operation Coordinator
About the Position.
Summary of Responsibilities: The Operations Coordinator will regularly interact with field members, including Project Coordinators, Supervisors and Field Cadres, to support and ensure efficient program implementation in 12 districts of Punjab. The Operation coordinator will be responsible for field-level follow-ups, gap-filling, coordination and submission of all reports and program documents with proper and timely information. He/she will closely work with other team members and provide operational support to achieve the program’s targets and address their queries. He will report to the Field Operations Manager and ensure program support, coordination and delivery of results across 12 program districts. The incumbent will coordinate with the district-level teams, including the field supervisors and field workers, to execute the program and supervise them to achieve its objectives. You will operate from Ludhiana, Punjab.
Deliverables/ Scope of Work:
- Coordinate activities between office and Field teams across the 12 districts.
- Ensure clear communication with Project Coordinators, Field Supervisors and Field Cadres on program activities and their follow ups.
- Coordinate and ensure submission of all program updates, data and season specific information from field team to Ludhiana office.
- Provide support to Project Coordinator and Field Supervisor in program implementation, training and other logistic support.
- Regularly call 8-10 Field Cadres and make field visits to 2-3 districts every month to monitor and assess the program progress.
- Coordinate and maintain clear communication between the field team and other relevant team members like Monitoring, Data, Operations, HR and provide support as necessary.
- Ensure the necessary resources are available at the right place and time. Manage and optimize the use of resources.
- Identify gaps in the field operations based on project needs and ensure timely progression of the planned program activities.
- Address any deviations from project specifications promptly.
- Provide timely update to other team members.
- Assist in scheduling meetings with field teams, office teams and other relevant stakeholders.
- Help identify and address issues or challenges that may arise during field operations and channel support from regional team members.
- Assist in training of field team.
- Regularly attend program monitoring meetings.
Qualifications & experience:
- Advanced degree and experience on agriculture, water conservation projects with 3 years’ experience as supervisor position. Previous work experience in Punjab will be advantage.
- Self-driven, capable of managing large team and time bound performance driven.
- Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong forecasting, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to gather first-hand information about challenges and issue faced by field and districts teams in effective implementation of key solutions and offer solutions.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work based on need.
- Strong Monitoring and Evaluation experience and understating to identify skewedness in results, gap analysis, pipeline analysis and make course corrections.
- Diversity of skill sets and the ability to work in cross-functional team.
The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of an annual renewal based on performance.
Language Command: Excellent communication and presentation skills in Punjabi and English are required.
