The Opportunity
We are recruiting a hydraulic structures leader to oversee the input of reservoir hydraulics and the design of hydraulic structures to our projects, within our global dams and reservoirs team. The role will provide technical leadership, delivering excellence and innovation to our clients, and ensure development of our junior staff to meet increasing demand. They will also need project management and business development skills to help us to further grow our international dams business.
Hydraulic assessment and design are essential components of the majority of our dams and reservoirs schemes, but are also key to other projects, such as flood alleviation schemes and transport infrastructure projects, for example where scour protection is required. The role will require an ability to communicate well with internal and external clients in multiple sectors and disciplines, developing relationships and cementing Arup’s position as a trusted, technical advisor.

Is this role right for you?
We are seeking the following skills and experience for this senior role:
- Relevant Engineering qualification
- Demonstrable knowledge of different dam configurations, reservoir and spillway designs and other hydraulic structures
- Comfortable working across multi-disciplinary teams in office and site environments
- Demonstrate technical excellence and contribution to dams and reservoirs industry
- Existing reservoir Supervising Engineer and/ or demonstratable experience of working towards Supervising Engineer and/ or All Reservoir Panel Engineer
- Ability to develop working relationships with key clients and suppliers at all level
- Leading people and teams on highly technical project work
